Pete received a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from West Chester University in 1997 where he performed in the W.C.U. Concert Choir under the direction of both Dr. Donald Nally and Dr. David DeVenney. Upon graduating Pete took an assistant band director's position at Freedom High School, in Bethlehem, PA, until receiving a choral position at Easton Area High School in 1998. Pete completed his Master in Music Education at West Chester University in 2003, where he studied voice under Alan Wagner. Since graduating Pete has performed with Lehigh Choral Arts, Twin Rivers Choral Society and as a soloist with his wife Marisa. Mr. Deshler has also been the director of the Western Salisbury Union Church Men's Choir, the Western Salisbury Union Church Summer Concert Series, the assistant conductor of the Twin River Choral Society and is currently the director of the Jerusalem Singers, a Lehigh Valley community choir which he founded in 1996. The Jerusalem Singers recorded a CD of Pete's music to celebrate their 10th season in 2005. For more information on the Jerusalem Singers please log on to www.jerusalemsingers.org. He is currently studying music composition under Dr. Larry Lipkis. Pete mostly enjoys composing choral music; however he has also written for trombone, saxophone, strings, flute and even created several electronic pieces. Recently Pete arranged Borghild Jacobson's "This My Church Shall Be" for organ and midi. This piece was premiered by Pete's wife, Marisa, at her annual organ recital on October 22, 2006. More recently Pete created another arrangement for organ and midi, this time based on "Joy to the World."
